As a fellow emigre, grieving the Broken Union to the south, I concur completely and add the following:
1. Canada regards its citizens as assets, not liabilities.
2. Canadians generally regard their governments as servants, not enemies.
3. Canadians honour the arts at all levels of endevour. For 54 years, I've had a good career - never a star, but never had to play for the tip jar. "Our shoulders are covered," as the Italians say.
