Detachment and empathy live on in your words, Bill King, reason enough to add my name to your list of subscribed admirers.

We could be squished flat trying to beat the sentient yam. Alternatively,

I think comprehensively disengaging our points of contact leaves us with our souls.

Most of us (me included) are not warriors. Unless we are made.

Let's work on positioning ourselves away from the sort of reliance the Yam has weaponized.

The lesser alternatives, carry on as an amusement in the Yam's toy chest or go out fighting aren't working.

We don't need the political parties or a national mandate. We know what to do.

Disengage with the US.

"There is no evidence that Canada cancelled all its ongoing contracts with Elon Musk’s Starlink satellite service, contrary to suggestions in social media posts." Reuters today at 4:45 AM

I can understand low information voters thinking the LCBO pulling all Kentucky Bourbon off it's shelves was orchestrated by Ford, but as a so called journalist you should at least have an idea he might only be badmouthing Trump to get elected.

Armed with a new mandate it's far more likely he will soon go back to selling off our Wetlands and landmarks like Ontario Place or The Science Centre to the highest bidder, and saying his name alongside Trudeau and Charlie Angus as a Canadian patriot is a crime against critical thinking.

Doug Ford still has Starlink on his plate. I’m curious what comes next.
