Spot on.

Music needs big personalities. Dizzy, Keith, Frank, etc. That’s what makes a genre stand out. Ronnie woke Canada up.

I like to make a distinction between a huckster and a trickster.

The con artist, though skilled in verbal and psychological manipulation, is self-serving. A mythical or archetypal trickster, on the other hand, appears as a disruptor of the status quo’s loyalty to banality.

A trickster figure, such as Kokopelli among the Pueblo people, reminds us not to take life—or ourselves—too seriously. The trickster’s gift lies in what his or her disruption makes possible.

Unlike a huckster, a trickster is masterful at upsetting the established order, seducing us away from our carefully constructed plans, making us laugh at our pretensions, or leading us somewhere we hadn’t intended to go. And on the other side of that disruption there may be fertility, creativity, connection, renewal or transformation.

Forget Trump or Musk. We need more Coyote, Raven, or Hermes coming through comedians, satirists, and political commentators such as yourself 👍

Until there are consequences for the other contributors to the global criminal conspiracy; including Putin, Netanyahu, Tech Be oligarchy, Corrupt Court Justices, Republican Party, Right-wing propaganda media, Epstein Class, and the Trump family circle, ridding the planet of Trump and Musk is akin to cutting the heads off the Lernaean Hydra. This is the struggle of humanity.

Sorry, Tech Broligarchy got autocorrected.

As usual Bill you have positioned and pilloried Musk and Trump for what they are, merchants of snake oil that will fix what ails us for a fee, with the result being that is now unravelling and the damage and suffering are apparent. How large a segment of the voting public will be open to the snake oil pitch in November.....we will see, hopefully a clear and decisive majority will unfortunately be able to see how their personal experience has been impacted by lies and grift.

Thanks for your recollection of your experiences with Rompin Ronnie....a great expat from the U.S. that adopted and embraced Canada and as a result, made a whole lot of difference and impact in our music scene. It was our good fortune that Sun records had a full stable of actual and up and coming stars that was too crowded for Ronnie. The Colonel , Kudlets, Ronnies Canadian promoter must have been quite the personality!
